Fukubukuro (‘lucky bag’)

This year, Apple took the cake. A ¥300000 (approx. A$300) bag got some shoppers a new laptop or Ipad. They only had to line up the night before and sit in the snow to get it.

There are also ‘unlucky bags’ or ‘depression bags’: one shopper unwittingly picked up eight copies of the same game in his.
